Attendance Matters:

STUDENTS

Coming to school  every day is a skill that you are developing that will help you succeed in class and with getting and keeping a job later on.

If you think missing a day here or there won’t matter, think again! By missing just one day every two weeks, you would be on track to miss two full weeks in a semester or nearly a month of school for the year!

Did you know that a student who misses 10 days or more during a school year is less likely to graduate from high school and or ever enroll in college?

Open House

Wednesday, August 15th is a mandatory Chromebook pick up for all new students. Open house begins at 6:00pm.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Summer Hours

Summer Business Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Class of 2022 and Transfer Students Registration Update

All new families to the district must complete the online enrollment forms and prove residency.  Any family who does not have at-home computer access can complete the process at a public library or here on campus in the Guidance Department.  The residency requirement sheet is attached below.  Students will not receive schedule pick-up information until all steps have been completed.  Please click here to use your SnapCode.

QuestBridge College Prep Scholars

Congratulations to juniors Jorge Casas Melchor, Zak Sadoun and Allan Vo, who were selected into the QuestBridge College Prep Scholars Program.  They are among a select group of over 11,000 students nationwide who applied to this rigorous program for high-achieving high school juniors, and have been identified as outstanding candidates to the nation’s top colleges. They will be attending the QuestBridge National College Admissions Conference at Rice University in Houston, TX this weekend.  Congratulations gentlemen!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Senior A. Gal on winning the IHSA Sectional Title in the Shot Put! Aneta will be competing at the IHSA State tournament this weekend at Eastern Illinois! Congrats also to her coaches, Head Coach Schoenfeld and Assistant Coaches Lauer, Glynn, & Kreil. Coach Kreil has had quite a streak of sending down track athletes in shot and discuss and he deserves a lot of credit for making it happen again in 2018!  Way to go Aneta and all the coaches!
Good Luck this weekend!

Congratulations!

Junior Jelena Stojanovich was awarded a full Global Navigator scholarship for a High School Summer Abroad program!  She will be spending a month in Madrid taking daily language classes and experiencing the culture while living with a host family.  Congratulations Jelena!

Spring Choral Concert

Please join us in the Grossman Auditorium for the Spring Choral Concert featuring the choral ensembles of the Reavis Music Department; including the Class of 2018 in their final performance together. Admission is free.

An Educational Presentation

Reavis Grad and owner of Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary provided an educational presentation for our science students on Monday 4/30. The event showcased four exotic animals: a Black Cap Capuchin, Mountain Coatimundi, Siberian Lynx, and a Red Kangaroo joey. The students and staff enjoyed a great, hands-on experience with these exotic animals!

STEM Day projects

Our Early Childhood Development Rams completed their STEM Day projects last week. Great job by both the preschool and high school students! Mr. LaMantia and Ms. O’Malley were very impressed with these future scientists. Check out the photos!
