Dear Parents/Guardian:
I invite you to attend first-semester Parent-Teacher Conferences at Reavis on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Faculty members will be present to speak with you regarding your student’s progress. Please enter the building by the main gym lobby, where staff will assist you with check in, distributing report cards, and directing you to faculty locations. Individual appointments are not scheduled, so please be sure to allow adequate time to meet with the faculty.
These meetings provide an opportunity for parents and the school to strengthen your student’s education and maximize the high school experience. In preparing for these conferences, I would encourage you to discuss school progress with your son or daughter prior to the conference date. Parent-Teacher Conferences will give you a better understanding of your student’s strengths, special abilities, and current performance.
Parents are also invited to a special presentation in the auditorium on the topics of anxiety and drugs. Presentation times will be 4:30pm and 5:45pm. Our speaker, Rachael Ridge is a counselor at Rosecrance. She is a licensed clinical social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor. She also has certifications in grief counseling, pathological gambling, and has her school social work certificate.
As stated in an article of the educational journal Phi Delta Kappan, “Local schools can maintain and build relationships by fostering ongoing two-way communication and by creating opportunities to bring the public closer to its schools.”
Parent-Teacher Conferences at Reavis do just that!
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
Sincerely,
Daniel J. Riordan, Ed.D.
Superintendent
