Don your lab coat when you join the Science Club because members increase their knowledge of science and scientific research methods by participating in the SSC Science Fair and by attending lectures. Club members also discuss current issues in science and their effects on modern man. Meetings are held twice a month.
Students learn to use science creatively, such as the Annual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. Members built and participated in a competition that took place at Purdue University that makes a simple task difficult, much like the children's game, "Mousetrap." Students had to turn off an incandescent light and turn on a more energy efficient light fixture in 20 steps or more.
