November’s theme of the month is Citizenship. Citizenship is the common thread that connects all Americans. We are a nation bound not by race or religion, but by the shared values of freedom, liberty, and equality. Citizenship includes a personal, social, and global responsibility to better oneself and the community in which we live. It can be described as participating in the democratic process, respecting and obeying laws, and respecting the rights, beliefs, and opinions, of others. Perhaps the best way to demonstrate citizenship in American society is to assume a responsibility for one's self.
