Our Physics and Modern Topics of Science sudents were shining stars at Reavis' Second Annual Physics Day! Students were instructed to construct a pinewood derby car, build a trebuchet/catapult, or complete a scientific analysis of a research question. Students presented their projects to a group of mentors from the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) community. The group of mentors included representatives from Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois Institute of Technology, Saint Xavier University, Sahs School, Liberty Junior High School, as well as several engineering and construction experts. We are grateful to these professionals for dedicating their time to make this experience possible for our students. The mentors were impressed with students' ability to communicate the scientific prinicples involved in their designs and with their professional and respectful behavior throughout the day. Congrats to Mr. Hurley, Mr. Gadomski, Ms. Burzic, and Ms. Coyne on a job well done!!
