The Instructional English/Pre-Voc Students motto this spring is Choose Kind, inspired by the book they read, "Wonder". The main character in the book suffered from a very severe facial deformity. The book's message centered around the responsibility we all have to treat all people with kindness no matter what their individual situation might be. The class culminating activity was held at the District 218 Administration Building on Thurs. May 14, 2015. Beverly resident, Mrs. Lynch spoke about her three year old daughter, Mary Cate who was born with a very rare disease APERTS. This affects the child’s bone development which results in various facial anomalies. Mary Cate will need to have another 10 – 20 surgeries in her lifetime. Mrs. Lynch has made it her mission to make people aware of APERTS so that her daughter will not be looked at or treated differently. Her message is to treat all people with KINDNESS. This opportunity was made possible through a grant from our Pre-Vocational Dept. Rams, #ChooseKind! Thank you to Ms. Miglieri & Ms. Kenny for organizing this special event!
