Hybrid Learning Model Letter

Reavis Students & Families:

It is with great pride that I welcome you all back to Reavis for the second semester of the 2020/21 school year.  I think I speak for the entire Reavis Community when I say, "Thank goodness 2020 is OVER!"  It has been a trying and uncertain 10 months, with many ups and downs, but because we stuck together, worked as a community, and always did right by our students, families, faculty, and staff members, we made it through the first semester as successful as any high school in the state of Illinois.

I want to thank our teachers, staff, students, and parents who made our Remote Learning Model successful.  I believe our teachers and students responded as best they could under these unprecedented conditions.  As stated before the Winter Break, we will stay in our Remote Learning Model until Friday, January 29, but I am excited to announce that we intend to move to our Hybrid Remote Learning Model starting on Monday, February 1.

We will continue to monitor the state and local COVID data, as well as consult with the Stickney Township Health Center over the next two weeks, and we will immediately inform you if anything changes.  You will be receiving a survey tomorrow to confirm your academic learning plan.  As always, families will still have the option to stay in our full Remote Learning Model, but you will have the choice to come to Reavis for in-person instruction within a Hybrid Learning Model.

As we begin this semester, we need to understand that the journey and pandemic are not over, but I hope you share my optimism that there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.  We need to stay focused, continue to lean on each other, and keep our students’ needs at the forefront of every decision we make.  I am confident we will trust the process and work collaboratively over these next several weeks and months.

We all look forward to seeing our students in person starting on February 1. In the meantime, keep focusing on your virtual classes and school work—and remember: Once a Ram, always a Ram!
