Welcome Back Reavis Students & Families:
We are so excited to welcome our students back for an exciting and “back to normal” school year this fall. I think we can all agree that last year was one of the most unique, unprecedented, and challenging years anyone has ever experienced. With our first day just 2 weeks away, I know everyone has been anxiously waiting to hear about what will be the same and what will be different as we get students back in the building for 100% in-person instruction.
The ultimate goal is to safely transition all of our students back to Reavis, where we all know they belong and thrive. Attached to this letter is our Safe Return to In-Person Instruction Plan. The plan details all the mitigation measures that Reavis will take to make sure our students and staff are safe and prepared to do their best while at school for in-person instruction. We will update the plan periodically as the guidance changes.
Specifically, and in line with CDC & IDPH Guidelines, ALL individuals, including students, teachers, staff, parents, and visitors will be required to wear a mask when they are in the building, regardless of their vaccination status. We continue to support and recommend that any individual who is qualified to receive the vaccine, make an appointment and get the vaccine. The science is clear that the combination of these two mitigations greatly reduces the spread of the COVID-19 virus and will help keep our students in school.
The Reavis theme and motto this year is “We will…” I look forward to and cannot wait to see what “We (our students) will do, create, perform, realize, share, accomplish, and overcome” this school year. As always, we will work with all of our students to make sure this coming year is one that helps them get back on track, move forward, and untap their full potential. We appreciated your support and flexibility as we navigated through the past 18 months and will work hard to earn your continued trust as we get the 2021/22 school year underway.
As always, GO RAMS!
