Reavis Families:
The Annual Illinois School Report Card was publicly released in October. The purpose of the Illinois School Report Card is to show how well schools and school districts are doing for all students. The report card offers a complete picture of student and school performance in order to inform and empower families and communities as they support their local schools. This is the first time since 2019 that schools in Illinois are receiving a designation. Reavis has received the designation of Commendable status.
As you know, our students’ academic growth slowed considerably during the pandemic, in line with nationwide trends. We are proud to see our students’ growth despite the past three very challenging years. This progress reflects the investments we have made in programs and initiatives funded through Evidence-Based Funding, federal pandemic relief funds, and our Title Funds used in our School Improvement Plan. Some examples of these include our professional learning communities, credit recovery, and academic and behavioral interventions within our multi-tiered systems of support. Our advisory period is another example of how we are committed to improving graduation rates and freshmen on track.
Our teachers, administrators, and staff, in partnership with you, continue to focus on collaborating with families to address individual student needs and support every student’s educational plan. Ultimately, the school report card designation gives us the opportunity to reflect on our strengths and areas for growth in which to further strengthen instruction and support for our entire student community. We are committed to this work.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Sincerely,
Julie A. Schultz
