Hello Ram Fam,
The February Rams are Responsible theme of the month is respect, and I am excited to share with you how our students are promoting a culture of respect, love, and friendship at Reavis High School. Each month, our Principal Voices Team meets to discuss issues important to students. This past January, students gathered at our monthly meeting to discuss ways to positively increase student involvement. Their efforts cumulated into many positive activities that any of our students or staff could participate in. Representatives from our committee then formed a coalition and pitched their top ideas to our February Coordinator, NBCT, Division Chair, and Senior Class Sponsor, Ms. Jooste. She met with the student reps and together they finalized a plan. A few of the highlights:
-
Friendship "Sweet Note" Day
-
Self-Love Day: Wear Red or Pink (candy will be passed out to those who participate)
-
Comfort Dogs
-
Respect Quotes painted on Cafe Windows
-
Pop Up Wellness Room "Ramtuary" during HRs (social emotional wellness space)
-
And so much more!!
The team created a showcase located outside the student cafeteria filled with daily positive quotes including the activities you can sign up to do. I want to thank both the Principal's Voices committee and those that served on the Principal Voices Coalition Team for your input and planning to make this month's activities possible. Students, we encourage you to participate in one or all of these activities to demonstrate respect at Reavis!
I am very proud of the joint efforts of our faculty and students to continually nurture our school culture. When we take care of each other, we take care of the world.
Respect Together,
Principal Schultz
