Summer

Reavis Families:

As students prepare for next year, there is one thing that we ask all families to set as an intention for the 2023-2024 school year: Rams WILL start on time. Many school districts, including ours, are facing greater challenges related to student punctuality post-pandemic. For a variety of reasons, we saw an increase in late arrivals to school, specifically 1st period in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.

We believe Attendance Matters and plan to share those expectations with your student beginning on the first day of school and following up on that message throughout the school year. To put it in perspective, a school year has 180 days leaving 186 days of the year to prioritize family vacations, holiday travel, appointments, and other commitments. We are aware that some things are unavoidable such as illness or a family emergency, and we have worked with families on those types of situations for years and will continue to do so. Our goal is to have every student on time, every day.

First Period begins promptly at 7:55am. Therefore, as you are solidifying your school transportation, we recommend that students arrive at school no later than 7:45am to efficiently enter the building through the approved doors, complete safety checks, and walk to class and arrive on time.

Our 2023-2024 Calendar and Bell Schedule | Reavis High School  is located on our website.

We hope you are enjoying your summer break, and we look forward to talking to you more at our Open House August 9 about the importance of attendance. We will send out more information related to Open House later this summer.

Sincerely,

Principal Schultz
